We're dealing with this now?
Last night at the dinner table, David and I were talking to Hannah about how her day went at preschool. She told us they learned the letter "E" and they had made crowns to wear for the day because it was Hat Day. (I don't know the correlation between the letter "E" and Hat Day but whatever). For the most part, this was a routine conversation with our 5-year-old but then our 5-year-old turned 16. She began to tell us that she was kissing some boys in her class and the boys weren't big fans of her affections. I explained to her that it was fine for her to kiss her brother, her cousin, her dad, her grandpa's etc. but there wasn't a need for her to be kissing other boys yet. This type of kissing comes later....when you get older. Hannah's eyes then filled up with tears and she began to protest by saying "but I am older", as if she was 16 and we just ruined her life because we told her that she couldn't date a certain boy.
I fear the real 16.

It is amazing how old they think that they are. It is hard at such a young age to understand all the rules and regulations. YOu will have to check out Mykala's story about being older on our blog, under goodbye Charlie!! It is fun parenting...
